Sheriff’s Report

The following information was provided by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Assault arrest

Tamara Gauthier, 53, of Copake, was arrested at 9:08 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 28, and charged with assault in the third degree (Class A misdemeanor) by Deputy Peter Merante and Deputy David Proper. 

Gauthier is accused of causing injury to another person at a private residence in Copake.  

She was arraigned in Copake Town Court and released on her own recognizance with a return date of Monday, Jan. 26.

Drug arrest

Mikala L. Riggleman, 20, of Amenia, was arrested at 9:40 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree (Class A misdemeanor) and unlawful possession of marijuana (violation) by Deputy Peter Merante.  

Riggleman is accused of being in possession of Adderall pills and a quantity of marijuana during a traffic stop on State Route 22 in Ancram.  

She was released on appearance tickets returnable to Ancram Town Court on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Criminal contempt charges

Christopher S. Siok, 33, of Housatonic, Mass., was arrested at 5:27 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26 and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree (Class A misdemeanor) by Deputy Michael Meier. 

Siok allegedly violated an order of protection. 

He was arraigned in Copake Town Court and released on his own recognizance with a return date of Thursday, Jan. 22.

The Mountaineers are the highest seeded team of the four schools remaining in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Class S playoff bracket.
