Alice F. Camburn


PINE PLAINS - Alice F. Camburn, 84, passed away Jan. 13, 2008, at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She was the widow of Vincent Camburn.

She was born March 22, 1923, the daughter of the late Bertha (Shook) and Albert Killmer.

Mrs. Camburn worked in the food service department at the Taconic Developmental Disabilities Service Office in Wassaic.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamala Camburn of Pine Plains and Patricia Silvernail of Millerton; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Joan and June; four sisters, Rose, Ethel, Mildred and Louise; and two brothers, Fred and Les.

Arrangements are under the care of the Peck & Peck Funeral Home in Pine Plains.

Funeral services are Thursday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, the Rev. Andrew Smith officiating.Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains.

Developers withdraw application to expand Wake Robin Inn

LAKEVILLE — Aradev LLC has withdrawn its application to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a special permit to redevelop the Wake Robin Inn.

In a letter submitted to P&Z Chair Michael Klemens on the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 17, law outfit Mackey, Butts & Whalen LLP announced its client’s withdrawal.

"What I really feel lucky about is having had the chance to meet and photograph so many people who had a real impact on our lives,” said Christopher Little whose new memoir, “Shooting the Breeze: Memories of a Photojournalist” was just released. The book is as eclectic and colorful as the man himself and offers an intimate look into Little’s globe-trotting career spent behind the lens, capturing some of the most iconic figures, events, and human stories of the past half-century.
