Robin A. Ball

NORTH CANAAN — Robin A. Ball, 57, of North Canaan died peacefully at her home on Dec. 31, 2016. 

Robin was born on Aug. 22, 1959, in Sharon, the daughter of the late Nancy (Drumm) and Gerald Ball of Millerton. 

Robin attended Housatonic Valley Regional High School. She wore many hats; she was a professional limo driver, a cook  and a professional housekeeper. Robin loved classic fast cars, country music and NHRA drag racing; Shirley Muldowney was her favorite driver and idol. 

Robin was an amazing cook, and her happiest moments were in the kitchen with her family. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Robin volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Episcopal Church of North Canaan. 

Robin is survived by her life companion, Michael Catinelli of North Canaan; her daughters, Christina and Jeremie Kadzik of Huntington, Mass., Heidi Milton and her fiancé, Andrew Williams, of Lee, Mass., and Crystal Milton of Lenox Dale, Mass.; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Elizabeth, Emma, Angelina and Kayla. She loved her grandchildren more than life. Her favorite saying to her grandchildren was, “I love you to the moon and back.” In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is also survived by her brothers, Joseph Ball and his wife, Tamra, and Sidney Ball Sr. and his wife, Shirley; her sisters, Mindy Milton and her husband, Michael, and Marjorie Sitter and her husband, Daryl; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was predeceased by her brothers, George and Walter Ball; and her husband, Howard Valyou.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, at the Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon from 5 to 7 p.m. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Sharon Congregational Church.

On Saturday, June 21, Mort Klaus, longtime Sharon resident, hosted 250 enthusiastic supporters of Northwest Corner’s beloved nonprofit, Chore Service at his stunning 175-acre property. Chore Service provides essential non-medical support to help older adults and those with disabilities maintain their independence and quality of life in their own homes.

Jane MacLaren, Executive Director, and Dolores Perotti, Board President, personally welcomed arriving attendees. The well-stocked bar and enticing hors d’oeuvres table were popular destinations as the crowd waited for the afternoon’s presentations.
