Someone whose taste far surpasses his morality made off with some 733 phonograph records stolen from the Tenth Muse in Canaan sometime last weekend between 5:30 Saturday evening and 7 a.m. Monday.

When Claudia Faedi came into the shop at 7 Monday morning to broadcast Canaan news over WSBS she noticed that a pane of glass in the side door had been broken. A casual glance did not reveal any further disturbance and it was not until later when Earl Smedick, Canaan Town Constable, came by that the theft was discovered. Many of the bins were empty of albums and when Carolyn Cooper, owner, arrived at the shop it was discovered that records with a retail value of $3,400 had been taken.

That amendment provided the legal basis for the commission’s approval of the project in October 2025; had the lawsuit succeeded, the redevelopment would have been halted.
