Football fundamentals at Housatonic camp

FALLS VILLAGE — A football camp for students entering the sixth through ninth grade in fall 2009 will be held at Housatonic Valley Regional High School from Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31. The camp, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon each day, is designed to introduce athletes to the fundamentals of football.

“It’s important for students to keep in shape during the summer and to acclimate, because when fall sports starts it’s going to be August and it still will be warm out, camp organizer (and Housatonic football coach) Deron Bayer said. “We want to teach kids the fundamentals they need to play football. We’ll go through drills and play flag football and other games.

The cost for the camp is $50 for all five days or $10 a day. For more information contact Bayer at 860-824-5123 ext. 193.
