Four Brothers Drive In Theater celebrates fifth year in business

AMENIA — With the longer days and warmer weather comes the revival of a favorite American pastime in the heart of Amenia: the season opening of the Four Brothers Drive In Theater. Now celebrating its fifth anniversary, owner John Stefanopoulos spoke about the theater.

He said he’s improving delivery time on food orders.  Come Friday, April 19, the drive in will boast a new menu that will feature farm-fresh Greek yogurt, fresh-pressed juices, fresh fruit, pies and waffles with ice cream. More items will be added as time goes by. The Shack at the drive in will also be expanded to offer customers more menu options and provide theater employees the ability to cater to larger crowds.

Stefanopoulos added that in addition to screening two movies per night, there will be a revival of Throwback Thursdays at the theater with a more diverse variety of films. Given how well-received it was last year, he wants to go beyond a simple movie screening to present the whole Throwback Thursday experience, complete with food, drinks and an entertaining night at the drive in.

Families searching for an original venue to host a birthday party can also make use of the theater.

For visitors coming into the area from out of town, Stefanopoulos announced that the theater will be introducing Hotel Caravana, a luxury overnight Airstream trailer that will link to the drive in experience.

“We’ve had a lot of people coming in from faraway that asked where they could stay for the night,” Stefanopoulos said. “There were a lot of people coming to the theater that really wanted to stay… and a lot of them were sleeping in tents and staying overnight. This year, we thought it would be cool if we could introduce an overnight package.”

Weekday fees for the Hotel Caravana will be priced at $319 a night and $369 on weekends.

The Four Brothers Drive In Theater officially opened on Friday, March 8, and will be open on Fridays and Saturdays until Friday, April 19, when it will open for seven days a week.

“This year, with the fifth anniversary, we’re really pushing the evolution of drive in theaters in America,” he said. “It’s really a place where you can share memories and spend time together openly and freely while enjoying one of America’s favorite pastimes.”
