Frederick E. Keller Jr.

LAKEVILLE — Frederick E. Keller Jr., 86, of Lakeville died Nov. 27, 2011, at Noble Horizons, where he had been a resident for several years. He was the husband of Helen (Beers) Keller for the past 60 years.Mr. Keller was born in Fairfield, Conn., on July 25, 1925, the son of the late Mattie (Mortensen) and Frederick E. Keller Sr. Mr. Keller was a Marine veteran of World War II. After serving his country he met and married Helen Beers of Bridgeport, Conn., in 1951. Soon after, he joined the Connecticut State Police as a trooper at the Westport barracks. After moving to Lakeville in 1964, he worked out of the Troop B barracks in North Canaan, becoming a detective before retiring, in 1979, from Troop L in Litchfield as a sergeant after 25 years of service. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Laura (Keller) Shapiro and her husband, Allen, of Forest Hills, N.Y.; his son, Robert Keller and his wife, Debora, of Riverton, Conn.; his son, Lawrence Keller and his wife, Janice, of Burlington, Conn.; his grandchildren, Nina Andreazza, Vanessa Chiappardi, Lauren Vellucci, Dana Shapiro, Richard Sanzo and Bryan Keller; and his great-grandchildren, Antonio and Valentina Andreazza.Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.The Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon has charge of arrangements.

SALISBURY — Joan Anderson Turnure, 91, died after a long illness on May 3, 2025, at Noble Horizons in Salisbury. She was the loving widow of Michael DeBurbure Turnure.

Joan was born July 29, 1933, in Mexico City, Mexico, the daughter of the late Lawrence Anderson and Barbara (Ryan) Anderson. She grew up in Mexico and Maryland, later attending the Shipley School in Pennsylvania and earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from Vassar College.
