Sharon Marie (Frederick) Kelly

PINE PLAINS — Sharon Marie (Frederick) Kelly, 57, of Pine Plains died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 28, 2015.

 Born in Teaneck, N.J., on June 26, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Leah Nadyne (Tatum) and John M. Frederick.

On June 6, 1981, Sharon married the love of her life, Matthew C. Kelly, in Clinton Corners, N.Y., and they went on to have two daughters, Laura and Christine. 

Sharon was very active in her daughters’ lives. A forever Girl Scout herself, she was also leader of a 4-H Troop and a Brownie leader. 

She loved her family, friends, food and entertaining, and was blessed with a green thumb and beautiful gardens. She worked as a restaurant server in the area for many years, the most recent location being Pastorale in Lakeville.

 In addition to her loving husband, Sharon is survived by her daughters, Laura Colleen Kelly of New York City, N.Y., and Christine Margaret Kelly of San Francisco, Calif.; her siblings, John M. Frederick and his wife, Tracey, of Portland, Maine, Lee Anne Gawron and her husband, Robert, of Ramsey, N.J., Charles Howard “Howie” Frederick and his wife, Pam, of Suffern, N.Y., and Mary Colleen Feorenzo and her husband, Vinnie, of Paramus, N.J.; her cousins, the Rev. Msgr. James T. Mahoney of Chatham, N.J., and James Pratka of Texas; and many loving nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service was held at Peck and Peck Funeral Home in Pine Plains on Oct. 2, the Rev. Msgr. James T. Mahoney officiating. 

Burial followed at the Albany Rural Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains, NY, 12567. These contributions will later be made into a scholarship fund for Stissing Mountain High School.

The BD facility in North Canaan is on lockdown May 15 due to a "hazmat incident," according to emergency responders on scene.

Norfolk Public Information Officer Jon Barbagalo said BD "received a suspicious package this morning" and "numerous state and local authorities" responded, including the FBI and CT DEEP.

Keith Raven Johnson

SHARON — Keith Raven Johnson, a long-time resident of Sharon, died on April 26, 2025, a month after his 90th birthday, at Geer Rehabilitation and Long -Term Care facility in Canaan.

He was born on March 21, 1935, in Ithaca, New York, the son of John Raven Johnson and Hope Anderson Johnson.
