Boomerangers head to World Cup

FALLS VILLAGE — Boomerangers Patrick Surdam and Tyler Beaujon are heading to Rome to represent the United States in the World Cup of Boomerangs this May.

They have raised a little over $1,000 but need to raise more. Their band, YOY, will hold a benefit concert at the New West Main Restaurant in Lakeville Saturday, April 10. Doors open at 9 p.m.; admission is $10. There also will be a raffle.

The duo, who held a boomerang demonstration at Hotchkiss last spring, made the cut at the U.S. team trials in Atlanta, Ga., in fall 2009.

“It’s the biggest boomerang event known to man, said Surdam.
