Churchill moves to Main Street

SHARON — Drivers passing through the center of Sharon have noticed the gradual evolution of the former doctor’s office on the Green, from down-at-heel to spruce and shiny. The property was purchased by Rafe Churchill Construction LLC, a new architectural design company, and will be home to the company, owned by Rafe Churchill.Churchill had been in business with his brother, Seth, here in Sharon. They started working together about 20 years ago. Rafe Churchill made the decision to return to the foundation of his schooling at Bennington College in Vermont, from which he holds an undergraduate degree in architecture; and Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, where he did postgraduate studies in sculpture. The brothers had an office on Route 4 that is now available for lease. Seth Churchill is about to open a new office in Lakeville, and will concentrate more on building. Rafe will concentrate on design and architecture and will also oversee the projects. Rafe has already begun doing business in a wide area that includes New York and Massachusets as well as Connecticut. He said he is doing renovations and new construction, with a focus on “traditional” style. Even a new house can be designed to have the look of a period house, while still meeting the needs and demands of modern homeowners (and building codes). Contact information is available at www.rafechurchill.com. The site also contains information on current projects and company background.
