Cornucopia taken over by restaurant owner

TORRINGTON — The Cornucopia Banqueting Hall, located at 371 Pinewoods Road, has come under new management as of December.

Paul Samele, who owns Chatterley’s Restaurant in New Hartford and P. Sam’s Bar & Grille in Torrington, now owns Cornucopia.

“I’m excited because the new space will give us lots more options to do multiple functions at once,” Samele said.

Samele said the hall will now be known as Chatterley’s because it has become well known in New Hartford, and the name change will provide good continuity.

He said it will take the place of P. Sam’s in Torrington, as the lease at the location has just ended.

“We were limited in space there, and being able to take over the new space has opened a bunch of doors for us,” he said. “Events have already been held at the new location under our management, and we’ve had great feedback.”

Samele said that they will provide catering for the events held at the banqueting space, from anniversaries and weddings to big meetings. He said he plans to carry on the tradition of hosting specialty brunches in the new space as they did at P. Sam’s, such as Easter and Mother’s Day brunches and a Thanksgiving buffet.
