Housatonic Valley Regional High School Student of the Week: Alixandra Borgert

The Lakeville Journal congratulates the honorees of the student of the week program at Housatonic Valley Regional High School.

Our student of the week is Alixandra Borgert, the daughter of Stuart and Deborah Borgert of East Canaan. Ali is a wonderful representative our high school and the class of 2009.

As a leader Ali has earned the FFA Greenhand, Chapter and State degrees.  She is a member of the National Honor Society and has earned Rising Above the Ordinary awards at school.  She is a member of the AFS club.

Ali has been involved with the electronics recycling day, the Red Cross blood drive, horse judging, rabies clinic and poultry judging, and was the FFA chapter secretary last year. She works at Weatogue Stables and helps at Shady Maple Farm when needed.

Ali will attend the University of Findlay in Ohio, where she will major in pre-vet and equine business management.

Ali was on the FFA Career Development Event horse judging team. The team came in first in Connecticut. She was the second individual in the competition and she will be competing at nationals in Indiana in the fall.

We are proud of Ali for her outstanding contributions and accomplishments at Housatonic.

Congratulations!
