Quiet arrival for new sign

FALLS VILLAGE — The brand new sign in front of Town Hall, complete with representation of the Great Falls, was created by Bill Blass.First Selectman Pat Mechare said she discussed the old sign, which was showing some wear, with Blass one day, and as a result of that chat Blass offered to make a new sign. Blass donated his services, Mechare said, and the town paid for the materials.“He did it all very quietly and without fanfare,” said Mechare. “I came to work one day and there it was.”Blass also repainted the posts that hold up the sign.“Bill Blass is one of our hidden talents, our resident folk artist,” said Mechare. “We’re very grateful.”
