Reward offered to catch vandals

WINCHESTER — A flurry of vandalism was reported on several roads in Winchester on and around Nov. 12, and one resident is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of suspects.

Spencer Hill Road resident Howard Mastroberti said lights were smashed in front of his property, while reports came in from Mountain Road, Peck Road, Taylor Brook Road, Danbury Quarter Road and Spencer Hill Road.

Asked about the vandalism, police Chief Nicholas Guerriero said last week that the town often experiences problems with destruction of property on and after Halloween.

“Mailboxes are an ongoing issue, he said. “For some reason we have someone out there who likes to destroy mailboxes. The chief acknowledged there were “quite a few instances of vandalism so far this month.

Mastroberti said his company, Northwest Properties, is offering the $500 reward to catch the culprits.
