Road upgrades for 2010

SALISBURY — First Selectman Curtis Rand shared a list of paving projects planned for the rest of the year. The roads to be worked on are Lakeview Avenue, Belgo Road, Farnam Road, Indian Mountain Road and Old Asylum Road. There will also be guardrail work and new stripes painted on roads.

Of the White Hollow Road repaving, Rand said at the July 6 selectmen’s meeting that the town had lost the funds from the federal “rural minor collector program. Efforts are underway through the Northwestern Connecticut Council of Governments to have the road reclassified as a major collector. The council of governments is made up of the first selectmen of nine Litchfield County towns.

If that strategy doesn’t pan out, “We’ll pave it next year, Rand said.

Some are framed, some lie loose on the dining table.
