Tree dedicated to memory of Kaelan Paton

SHARON — Almost one year after he drowned in the Housatonic River, a tree has been planted in front of Sharon Center School in honor of Kaelan Palmer Paton.

Kaelan died last year on June 16, at the age of 16. He was a student at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, and a graduate of Sharon Center School.

The tree dedication ceremony was hosted by his mother, Catherine Palmer Paton. She was joined by a friend, Jan Stone.

The tree was dedicated on Friday, June 4.

“He always had a positive attitude and enjoyed life, Paton recalled. “He had a worldly sense of family.

The tree, along with three other trees planted in front of the school in Kaelan’s memory, were donated by Beardsley Gardens.

Paton has also planned two memorial  services in Falls Village (for information, see Page A10).
