Anna H. Dam


PINE PLAINS — Anna H. Dam, 91, passed away on Jan. 13, 2007, at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. She was the widow of Jacob Dam.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1915, in Yonkers, N.Y., the daughter of the late Blanche (Wojna) and John Borash.

Mrs. Dam worked for the Maplebrook School years ago when it was in Millbrook. She was a member of the Pine Plains Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for more than 45 years.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Dam of Pine Plains and Thomas Dam of Gallatin, N.Y. ; a sister, Mary Dam of Pine Plains; a brother, Andrew Borash of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Parish and three brothers, John, Joseph and William Borash.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Jan. 18, at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, the Rev. Diane Kennedy officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains.

CANAAN — Anita L. (King) Gochey, 85, of 77 South Canaan Rd. died June 5, 2026, at Geer Village. She was the wife of the late Lester Gochey. Anita was born July 16, 1940,in Winsted, daughter of the late Ivan and Irene (Dulude) King.

Anita was well known throughout the Northwest Corner. She worked for many local businesses and organizations. Anita worked at the Rexall Drug Store, C.A. Lindell and Sons, Bob’s Clothing, Brooks Pharmacy, and the Housatonic Valley Regional High School in the cafeteria.She used her skills in calligraphy to complete the record books for the North Canaan Congregational Church.Anita’s daughter remembers her as being very creative with cardboard, and a loving mom.
