Arnoff awarded ‘Employer of the Year’

MILLERTON  — In a workforce of 133 employees, Arnoff Moving & Storage has 14 employees who are veterans of the United States armed forces. Arnoff received the “Employer of the Year” award by the American Legion Department of New York at a recent gala event in Binghamton, N.Y.

The Poughkeepsie-based Arnoff has multiple locations in the Hudson Valley and beyond, including Millerton and Lake-ville, Conn., to service its customers, together with an online presence at www.Arnoff.com.

Arnoff President Mike Arnoff said that a benefit to employers hiring veterans is that they are workforce-ready and understand regimentation, schedules and rules of engagement.

Until now, Arnoff said, they haven’t spoken publicly about their veterans-hiring policy, but this award gives them the chance to recommend the practice to other employers. He said that veterans tend to be extremely loyal and dependable workers.
