Aurora Estates housing plan approved by PZC

WINSTED — The Winsted Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4-1 Monday night to approve the proposed Aurora Estates housing development between Route 800 and Highland Lake, after a similar proposal was rejected in 2007.

Developer Anthony Silano proposed a 300-unit development last year but scaled the project down to 225 units and agreed to a list of 126 conditions for the project, including meeting with a zoning officer on a monthly basis to update the town on the progress of the development. Silano has agreed to complete the project within five years and to notify the Planning and Zoning Commission if any changes are made to the project.

Winsted residents can visit winchesterctdevelopment.com and see a link to Aurora Estates under Current Applications to find the complete details of the Aurora application, as well as all of the conditions set by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
