She graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical School in 1976 with a Hairdressing and Cosmetology diploma.

Dawn worked at Becton Dickinson and was secretary for the North Canaan Congregational Church and Canaan Episcopal Church for many years. She started the Yo Kids program at Pilgrim House, where middle school students could go weekly to dance, play games  and socialize with friends. Before leaving for Florida, Dawn was the administrative assistant for Lynn Hollyn, designer, in Lakeville.

Dawn was married to James “Jim” F. Spadaccini on April 28, 1978.

They have two children, Stacey Stambaugh and her husband, Jason, and James M. Spadaccini and his wife, Nida. They have two grandchildren, Kaden and Kaydee Stambaugh.

Dawn and Jim moved the family down to Florida in 1994.

Dawn was predeceased by her sister, Bonnie L. Palmer; and her brother, Mark E. Weaver.

In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her brothers and sister, Richard Weaver and Beverly Becker of North Canaan, Douglas and his wife, Phyllis (Tinker), of Egremont, Mass., Debbie Bergenty and her husband, Steve, of North Canaan and Dexter and his wife, Dawn (Fuller) Weaver, of Norfolk; her brother-in-law, Michael Spadaccini and his wife, Lisa, of North Canaan; her sister-in law, Cathy Allison and her husband, Jeff, of Tennessee; 10 nieces and nephews, Robert Palmer of West Haven, Maribeth (Weaver) Marchi, Heather (Weaver) Tallon, Kenneth Weaver and Jason, Joshua and Ashleigh Bergenty, all of North Canaan, Doug Weaver Jr. of Pittsfield, Mass., Kim (Weaver) Bleau of Ashley Falls, Mass., and Kaitlyn Weaver of Norfolk; nine great-nieces and -nephews, Camdyn and Gavin Tallon, Reagan Marchi, Jackson and Alexie Weaver and Kolby, Luke, Adrian and Natalia Bleau.

Our family laughs that our grandparents were “only” children and added 30 lives to the world.

On her husband’s side, she also leaves behind five nieces and nephews Mike, Jason and Stephanie Spadaccini and David  and Crystal Allison; and eight great-nieces and -nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canaan Fire Company, P.O.Box 642, North Canaan, CT  06018.
