SHARON — According to Region One Superintendent Patricia Chamberlain, a series of community forums and a survey about the regional schools and Housatonic Valley Regional High School are posted on the Internet.
The Sharon meeting will be on Wednesday, May 21, 7 p.m., at Town Hall. Everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts.
“The more response the better, Chamberlain said.
Sharon Center School Principal Karen Manning reported on field trips and events at the Region One School Board's April 21 meeting. There have been nutrition programs, visits to the Norman Rockwell Museum and the D.A.R.E. program.
She also talked about the physical restraint policy for children who misbehave. Classroom teachers must take a class on how to handle the situation when a student becomes out of control and needs to be physically restrained.
The board also talked extensively about the school’s bullying policy, which has not been updated since 2002. The board members felt that the policy needs to be revised for the coming school year.
The next board meeting will be on Monday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sharon Center School library.
