LAKEVILLE — After a nine-year layoff, the Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Service revived its pancake breakfast fundraiser March 22 at the Town Grove.

Grove manager Stacey Dodge said it was town Recreation Director Lisa McAuliffe’s idea to bring back the breakfast and hold it at the Grove instead of the ambulance building on Undermountain Road in Salisbury.

“It’s got the room, it’s got the view,” said McAuliffe.

The last pancake breakfast was held in 2016. The 2025 revival was popular. At 9 a.m., there were about 20 people eating and as soon as someone left, someone else arrived.

McAuliffe said the flow had been steady since the start at 7:30 a.m.

But what can be attributed to this sudden peak of student interest? That’s largely due to SGA. Also known as the Student Government Association, SGA has dedicated itself to creating events to bring the entire student body together. This year, they decided to change some traditions.

The weekend of Homecoming at HVRHS was packed with events including rival games under the lights, senior night, and a new take on Homecoming that moves it outside — and it wouldn’t have been possible without the students of Housatonic.

Orchestrating was no easy feat, especially considering much of the work was left up to the students.
