Frank Carl Arrigoni

EAST CANAAN — Frank Carl Arrigoni, 78, of Allyndale Road, died suddenly while surrounded by his loving family on Thanksgiving day, Nov. 26, 2009. His beloved wife, Betty Ann (Gleeson) Arrigoni, predeceased him on Jan. 3, 2006.

Frank was born in Torrington on July 6, 1931, son of the late Charles and Elsie (Minacci) Arrigoni.

Frank was a mechanic. He operated Frank’s Shell Service in Norfolk, which he started in the early 1960s. In 1971, he opened Frank’s Garage in East Canaan, which he ran until retiring in 1985. Never one to sit still, Frank began a new career after retiring from the garage. He opened Frank’s Firearms in East Canaan.  Frank served his country during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955 in the U.S. Air Force.

His first love was his family, both immediate and extended. His second love was the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the trips he took to visit his son’s family in Maine. Frank also was a jack-of-all-trades. He was skilled at working in both metal and wood. If something was broke, Frank could fix it.
