Justin Charles ‘Jut’ Webster

DOVER PLAINS — Justin Charles “Jut” Webster, 42, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, died April 23, 2016, at home. 

Justin was a woodworker at Listening Rock Farm and also worked as a stone mason. 

Born on June 22, 1973, in New Milford, he was the son of Elsie (Eaton) and Charles L. Webster of Dover Plains. Justin attended Dover schools and was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed four-wheeling. 

In addition to his loving parents, Justin is survived by a daughter, Ashley Webster of Dover Plains; a brother, Joshua Webster and his wife, Lynna, of Dover Plains; a sister, Mary Dorfschmidt and her husband, Russell, of Millerton; two nephews, Jeremy and Andrew Dorfschmidt; and his dear friend and partner, Holly Whaley, and her daughter, Reagan Whaley, who looked to Justin as a father figure, both of Dover Plains.   

Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 28, at the Hufcut Funeral Home in Dover Plains. Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 3 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205.

WASHINGTON — Housatonic Valley Regional High School’s boys varsity soccer team advanced to the Berkshire League tournament final after a 1-0 win over Shepaug Valley High School in the semifinal game on Friday, Oct. 24.

Jackson McAvoy scored the game-winning goal with just two minutes remaining.

School spirit on the rise at Housy

As homecoming week reaches its end and fall sports finish out the season, an air of school spirit and student participation seems to be on the rise across Housatonic Valley Regional High School.

But what can be attributed to this sudden peak of student interest? That’s largely due to SGA. Also known as the Student Government Association, SGA has dedicated itself to creating events to bring the entire student body together. This year, they decided to change some traditions.
