TAX SALE

The tax collector of the Town of Canaan has levied upon the following properties in Canaan and slated them for public auction to satisfy delinquent taxes and charges under C.G.S. ÔøΩ 12-157. Unless paid, these properties will be auctioned in “as is” condition at 3:00 p.m. on September 7, 2023 at the Canaan Town Hall at 108 Main Street in Falls Village.

#1—18 Route 63 owned by Priscilla C. Belcher

#2—acres on Steep Road owned by Kevin H. McKee or his Estate

#3—97 Route 7 South and acres on Route 7 South owned by Lewis C. Shippa a/k/a Lewis Shippa or his Estate and June E. Shippa a/k/a June Shippa

Bidders must present $5,000 per property in certified funds payable to “Pullman & Comley, Trustee” on the day of the sale, and the winning bidder must pay the balance of the sale price within 5 days or forfeit that deposit and the property. Notice is hereby given that the following action was taken by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the Town of Salisbury, Connecticut on August 21, 2023:

Approved - Minor Modification of Approved Site Plan associated with special permit #2021-0123 by Salisbury Housing Committee, Inc. to Construct 12-Unit Multifamily Residential Development in the PKSQ Overlay District and Aquifer Protection Overlay District in accordance with section 803.5 of the Salisbury Zoning Regulations. Windy weather cancels Kent Invitational

Glastonbury High School crew attempted to battle wind and white caps on Lake Waramaug at the Kent Invitational that was ultimately cancelled, May 10.

KENT — The annual Kent Invitational regatta on Lake Waramaug did not start this year due to strong winds of 30 miles per hour on Saturday, May 10.

The gusts caused white caps on the lake's surface and boats were unable to stay in lane or arrange on the starting line.

Wake Robin developers reapply with P&Z

LAKEVILLE — ARADEV LLC, the developer behind the proposed redesign of Wake Robin Inn, returned before Salisbury’s Planning and Zoning Commission at its May 5 regular meeting with a 644-page plan that it says scales back the project.

ARADEV withdrew its previous application last December after a six-round public hearing in which neighbors along Wells Hill Road and Sharon Road rallied against the proposal as detrimental to the neighborhood.

Eight different players scored for Housatonic in the Northwest Corner rivalry matchup. Sophomore Georgie Clayton led the team with five goals.
