At Lime Rock Park, two wheels instead of four

LIME ROCK — A group of students from Salisbury Central School (SCS) received newly rebuilt bicycles from employees of Ferrari’s North American division at Lime Rock Park on Friday afternoon, Sept. 23.

SCS Principal Lisa Carter said eight students were chosen to receive the bikes by a lottery system.

Employees at Ferrari took part in a team-building program run by Impact 4 Good, which specializes in such programs for businesses, with a focus on community-based activities.

They rebuilt the bicycles, going so far as to get the height and weight of the recipients from Carter.

Edwin Fenech, the Ferrari North American division CEO, made a brief speech in the Ferrari tent, and the employees mingled with the children.

Then everybody trooped down the hill to get the bicycles, which also came with helmets.

Josh Enslow, grade seven, was asked if he was excited to get his new bike.

He nodded, and almost immediately began performing wheelies.
