Margory A. Hay


STANFORDVILLE — Margory A. Hay, a longtime resident of Stanfordville, entered into rest peacefully on Oct. 28, 2007, at home with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Richard A. Hay of Stanfordville.

She was born on April 17, 1940, in Yonkers, the daughter of the late Margory (Paul) and George MacDonald.

"Marge" was a deacon of the United Church of Christ, Stanfordville and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Shekomeko Chapter, Pleasant Valley.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Bonnie J. Kim and her husband, John, and Beverly A. Every and her husband, Mark, of Stanfordville; a son, Robert S. Hay and his wife, Shelia, of County West Meath, Ireland; her cherished grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Kim; a brother, George C. MacDonald and his wife, Rose, of Galloway, N.J.; a sister, Catherine J. Koppenhoefer and her husband, Peter, of Cornwall, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

Marge was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She showed great dignity and grace in dealing with her illness and will be greatly missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, from the United Church of Christ, Route 82 in Stanfordville.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the United Church of Christ or the Stanford Free Library, Stanfordville, NY 12581.

Glastonbury High School crew attempted to battle wind and white caps on Lake Waramaug at the Kent Invitational that was ultimately cancelled, May 10.

KENT — The annual Kent Invitational regatta on Lake Waramaug did not start this year due to strong winds of 30 miles per hour on Saturday, May 10.

The gusts caused white caps on the lake's surface and boats were unable to stay in lane or arrange on the starting line.

Wake Robin developers reapply with P&Z

LAKEVILLE — ARADEV LLC, the developer behind the proposed redesign of Wake Robin Inn, returned before Salisbury’s Planning and Zoning Commission at its May 5 regular meeting with a 644-page plan that it says scales back the project.

ARADEV withdrew its previous application last December after a six-round public hearing in which neighbors along Wells Hill Road and Sharon Road rallied against the proposal as detrimental to the neighborhood.

FALLS VILLAGE — Housatonic Valley Regional High School girls lacrosse kept rolling Tuesday, May 6, with a decisive 18-6 win over Lakeview High School.

Eight different players scored for Housatonic in the Northwest Corner rivalry matchup. Sophomore Georgie Clayton led the team with five goals.
