Marion Winsor

MILLERTON — Marion Winsor, 84, recently of Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Canaan, died on April 3, 2011. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 16, 1927, daughter of Eurie Inkpen and Henry George Rice. She was a member of the North East Baptist Church in Millerton and of the Central Baptist Church of Canton, Ohio. She is survived by four daughters, Betty O’Handley of Berwick, Pa., Nancy Humbert and Audrey Watson, both of Millerton, and Judy Eaton of Flin Flon, Manitoba, Canada; a son, Chesley Winsor of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada; and her siblings, Beulah Hafner, Violet Wood, Betty Ryan and Joseph Rice all of Florida, and Glen Rice of Pennsylvania.She was predeceased by her husband, Chesley N. Winsor, of Triton, Newfoundland, Canada; and her daughter, Janice McLaughlin of Dover Plains.A funeral service will be held at the North East Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, followed by interment at Irondale Cemetery.The Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home in North Canaan has charge of arrangements.

SHARON — Sharon Dennis Rosen, 83, died on Aug. 8, 2025, in New York City.

Born and raised in Sharon, Connecticut, she grew up on her parents’ farm and attended Sharon Center School and Housatonic Valley Regional High School. She went on to study at Skidmore College before moving to New York City, where she married Dr. Harvey Rosen and together they raised two children.

There is a scene in “The King of In Between,” a documentary about musician Garland Jeffreys, that shows his name as the answer to a question on the TV show “Jeopardy!”

“This moment was the film in a nutshell,” said Claire Jeffreys, the film’s producer and director, and Garland’s wife of 40 years. “Nobody knows the answer,” she continued. “So, you’re cool enough to be a Jeopardy question, but you’re still obscure enough that not one of the contestants even had a glimmer of the answer.”
