Muriel (Cuddy) Capellaro

MILLERTON — Muriel (Cuddy) Capellaro, 96, died suddenly on April 12, 2011. She was born June 22, 1914, in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of the late Olga and Francis Cuddy.She spent her childhood in Stratford, Conn., and later Danbury, Conn., where she met and married Bill Capellaro and started her family. They moved to New Fairfield, Conn., where they lived until they retired. They spent their retirement in Florida and Cape Cod. Muriel lived in Millerton for the last 20 years. She was a strong-spirited yet gentle woman who led a rich life influenced by nature, love of her family and art, which she worked at right up until her death.She is survived by her five children, Bill and his wife, Helen, Mary Lou Alberetti and her husband, Bob, Jane Capellaro, David and his wife, Kim, and Robert and his wife, Ellen; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, to whom she was married for more than 70 years; and her grandson, Robbie.A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Millerton.
