Animals: The best friends you'll ever have

Whoever thought dogs could be man’s best friend? I believe that dogs can become the best friend of both man and woman. Dogs have been around for many years and continue to be great companions. I feel that it is possible for dogs to become more widely known and understood if only people would just learn to respect them a little more.

I saw a show on Animal Planet on TV on the ASPCA about real events where the show is filmed right on the spot. This show is about how the animal cops drive to the spot and tell animal owners whether they are going to be arrested due to the level of cruelty the animal has received. Another show about all sorts of animals, including dogs, on Animal Planet runs on Sunday night at 8 p.m. If you like animals, don’t miss it.

If you are really interested in animals, then you should check out the ASPCA Web site at aspca.org. A great link to go to is the one for adoption. As you will see, animal cruelty is very serious and should be stopped. The best pets matched with the right owners

Looking for a family dog that is great with children and won’t do bad things like go through the garbage? You are looking for the golden retriever. This dog is a great hunter, comes with good natural abilities and is very sweet, with both kids and adults of all ages.

Are you a senior and wanting a dog that’s lazy like you? If so, you have more than one choice, and some great breeds to choose from would be the beagle, collie and many other breeds.

Looking for one that started from a royal family or one that likes being fancy? If so, some great breeds would be ones like the King Charles Cavalier or the French breed called the bichon fries. This breed is not the country type, but the city type.

As you can see from reading this article, there are many different breeds, and it is not that hard to match up a dog to you, with the same qualities you have. When you do, your life will become a lot more enjoyable.

Nicholas Burchfield, a sixth-grade student at Salisbury Central School, has four dogs in his family.

As homecoming week reaches its end and fall sports finish out the season, an air of school spirit and student participation seems to be on the rise across Housatonic Valley Regional High School.
