Peter Ermacora

NORFOLK — Peter Ermacora of Roughland Road died Dec. 26, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. Peter was born in New York City, son of the late Peter and Anna (Wolfe) Ermacora.He served in the U.S. Army and was discharged honorably from the service in Lafayette, La. Peter was graduated cum laude, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Md. He worked in the advertising field in New York City for several years. Later, he became associated as a designer with Evan G. Hughes, Inc. Eventually he and Mr. Hughes formed EGHPeter Inc., a business featuring 18th- and 19th-century American antiques. Peter leaves behind his loving partner and spouse of 42 years, Evan G. Hughes of Norfolk; his sister, Evelyn Hedus of North Canaan; his nieces, Jo-ann Cascardi and her husband, Andrew, of Wilmington, N.C., and their children, Laura, Mark and Karen; and Judie Provencher of Holmes, N.Y., and her daughter, Tiffany; a great-grandniece, Althaea Kress, and a great-grandnephew, Arbor Havens. At Peter’s request there will be no funeral services. The Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home in North Canaan has charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in Peter’s memory to the American Cancer Society 825 Brook St. I-91 Technology Center Rocky Hill CT 06067.

The Mountaineers are the highest seeded team of the four schools remaining in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Class S playoff bracket.
