Ralph C. Yale

WASSAIC - Ralph C. Yale, 77, a longtime resident of Wassaic, died
April 2, 2010, at The Kent.  Mr. Yale was a dairy farmer who owned
and operated Yale's Farm in Wassaic, for many years.
He was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Meriden, Conn., the son of the late
Frances Miller (Ives) and Fred K. Yale.

He married Rita F. Daly on May 19, 1950, in New Milford.  She
survives at home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son,
Michael Yale of Wassaic; a daughter, Betsy Jackson and her husband,
Greg, of Chesapeake, Va.; three brothers, Thomas Yale of Meriden,
Fred Yale of Plymouth, Vt., and John Yale of Meriden; five
grandchildren, Thomas Jackson, Ben Jackson, Trevor Yale, Erica
Dinsmore and Jessica Magne; and three great- grandsons, Jonathan
Dinsmore, Myles Magne and William Yale; and a great-granddaughter,
Ayla Magne.

Graveside services and burial were held April 6,  at Sacred Heart
Cemetery in Kent. Memorial contributions may be made to the American
Heart Association, 229 Manchester Road, Poughkeepsie, NY  12603.

Hotchkiss students head to Carnegie Hall

There’s an old adage that asks, “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” The answer is usually “practice, practice, practice.” But for 27 Hotchkiss students, the answer will be boarding a chartered bus from Lakeville to New York City for the Young Artists Concert on Jan. 31.

The concert will be presented by Fabio Witkowski, the Joanne Eastman Sohrweide Chair and director of music at Hotchkiss, alongside Gisele Witkowski, instructor in piano and director of the Hotchkiss Piano Portals summer program. Together, they will showcase a wide range of student performances, highlighting the depth of musical study and artistic excellence cultivated at the school.

Kellogg emerging artists show opens at Hunt Library

After a November 2025 meeting with Falls Village artist Vincent Incognilios, whose show “Face Time” was on exhibition at the David M. Hunt library, students at Lee H. Kellogg, under the eye of art teacher Madeleine Stern, got busy with their responses.

The results are now on display at the library.
