Roe Jan SummerFest

On Aug. 9, 4 to 9 p.m., the Roe Jan SummerFest will take place in the old railroad depot area around 32 Anthony Street. It’s an exciting event that celebrates the best drink, food and fun that the area has to offer. This indoor/outdoor event will feature beverages from numerous wine, beer, spirits and cider producers in Columbia County and beyond. Food will be abundant as well, with food trucks on site (Cousin’s Lobster, Authentic Eats by Oleg, and Great Cape Baking Co.) and the fare on the menus of Roe Jan Brewing Co and Twisted Sisters Coffee House.

With a purchased ticket ($20 in advance, $30 at the door), adults may sample from dozens of beverages on hand while enjoying live music and browsing through the craft vendors. Like what you sampled? Bring home a 6-pack or a bottle. Folks who want to join in on the fun without consuming drinks can participate with a “teetotaler” ticket for just $10. Advance tickets are available at www.roejansummerfest.com and also at the door on the day of the event.

Activities are planned for adults and children alike, making this a great family day. Kids (youngsters 12 and under get in free) will love the talented face painter, Tracey Hanselman, and the clever balloon artist, Lindsey Russell. Compete on several cornhole setups while enjoying the live music from The Wickers Creek Band (up first) then Frank Migliorelli & The Dirt Nappers. Leashed dogs are welcomed, too.
