Arthur C. Dunn

MILLERTON — Arthur C. Dunn, 73, a longtime Millerton resident, died April 1, 2018, at Sharon Hospital. 

Arthur retired from the Wassaic Developmental Center, where he worked as a therapy aide for more than 25 years.

Born Nov. 27, 1944, in Wallkill, N.Y., he was the son of the late Helen and William Dunn. 

Arthur graduated from Valley Central High School and married Caroline E. Seigel on Aug. 14, 1983, in Dover Plains. Mrs. Dunn died Jan. 22, 2004.

Arthur was a longtime member of the Millerton Grange and the Dover-Amenia Masonic Lodge and enjoyed photography in his spare time.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Marguerite Walker of Stanfordville; his sister, Betty VanHuesen; a nephew, Michael VanHuesen; three grandchildren, Kristin Charles-Scaringi, Michael Charles and Kara Turner; five great-grandchildren, Jane Scaringi, Emmett Charles and Kyla, Carl and Peyton Turner. 

He was predeceased by his brother, William Dunn.

Funeral services were held April 8 at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home in Millerton. Burial was private.

WASHINGTON — Housatonic Valley Regional High School’s boys varsity soccer team advanced to the Berkshire League tournament final after a 1-0 win over Shepaug Valley High School in the semifinal game on Friday, Oct. 24.

Jackson McAvoy scored the game-winning goal with just two minutes remaining.

As homecoming week reaches its end and fall sports finish out the season, an air of school spirit and student participation seems to be on the rise across Housatonic Valley Regional High School.
