As the summer season begins, we are revisiting and summarizing some of the ongoing issues that have captured our attention during the past year.
PINE PLAINS — A company called Primex Properties appeared before the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) during past months with plans to construct a 9,100-square-foot Dollar General store.
The proposed site was at the corner of routes 82 and 83 south of Stewart’s.
As of its last application revision in March, Primex Properties required two variances from the ZBA: one for exceeding the allowed square-footprint and one for exceeding the maximum allowed building setback.
At that time, ZBA members expressed doubts about approving a project that far exceeded the town’s 6,000-square-footprint minimum.
Primex Properties requested to be removed from the Planning Board’s agenda in April to reconsider the status of its application and has not appeared on an agenda since.
