Fun and food shared at annual Fall Festival

MILLBROOK— Painted faces, soccer in the background, live music and lots of good food, what more could you ask for on a crisp, fall day, for young and old alike. Well, add some pumpkin painting and lots of friendly vendors, and that’s pretty much a perfect day for the Second Annual Fall Festival sponsored by the Town of Washington Recreation Department.

Admission was free at the Town Park at 3744 Route 44; live music was courtesy of Paul Pesco, and some of the vendors included Angels of Light, Arbonne, Avon Cosmetics and Custom Creations by Erica. For the beauty conscious, there was Lemongrass Spa, LuLaRoe & Color Street Nails, as well as Smelz Good and Scentsy. For the more serious minded, there was Millbrook Library, Usborne Books and Dutchess Day School.

For pure fun, aside from the official soccer games going on, there was face painting by Dyano and Enjoy-a-Ball.  Corn hole space was lots of fun.

Letti’s Ice Cream looked delicious, and Fanelli’s Deli Dogs smelled heavenly.

The end of summer doesn’t mark the end of good times at the recreation center, lots of new programs are starting up, and soon it will be time for the annual Trunk or Treat for Halloween. Christmas will bring all the usual good times, building Gingerbread Houses, meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus. The “rec” headed by Chelsea Edson, and ably assisted by Kelly Cassinelli, provides Millbrook youngsters year round enjoyment, for all the holidays and in between. To learn more about their programs, go to www.towrecreation.com, or call 845-677-8278.
