Jack Gerard Silvernale

MILLERTON — Jack Gerard Silvernale, 59, passed away on July 28, 2018, after a short but aggressive battle with cancer.

Born on Sept. 7, 1958, in Anniston, Ala., Jack served from 1978 to 1980 in the United States Army.

On June 11, 1983, he married Veronica “Ronnie” Hosier.

Jack was an active member of the Berkshire Beagle Club, and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Most of all, he loved being a provider for his family and friends, and taking care of his mother. Jack was the kind of man who gave his last dollar to someone in need, to buy unnecessary pets for his grandson, and to feed his great-niece’s reading addiction.

Jack leaves behind many dearly loved family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica “Ronnie” (Hosier) Silvernale of Millerton; his daughter, Jaime “Turk” Silvernale and her fiancé, William MacDaniel Sr.; his beloved grandson, William “Bud” MacDaniel Jr. of Amenia and his mother, Dorothy “Dot” (Haye) Silvernale of Millerton; his sister, Barbara “Boop” and Jim Lattrell of Sharon; his niece, Danielle Lattrell of Salisbury; his nephew, Kyle Lattrell of North Canaan; his brother, Mike Silvernale of Sharon; his nephew, Michael “Mikey” Silvernale of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his sister-in-law Diane (Schultz) Hosier of Millerton; his niece, Shannon “Dupa” Mersand; his beloved great-niece, Anastasia, of Wassaic; his niece, Becki “Bec” and Jeremy Kipling and his beloved great-niece, Sophie, of Natick, Mass.;  his nephew, Sean Hosier; his great-nieces, Taylor, Octaviana and Auriella Hosier;  and a great-nephew, Owen Hosier, of Copake, N.Y.

He also leaves behind John Dennis, who was like a brother to him, and his wife, Kathy, of Millerton; his dear friends, Kathy Gibblin of Millerton and Ron Gibblin of Virginia; his adopted Aunt Barbara and her husband, Jim McGhee, of Salisbury and Nikki Mace of Wassaic, who was like a second daughter; and his dear friend Bob Fullerton of Millerton.

He was predeceased by his father, Jack Silvernale; a brother-in-law, Bradley Hosier Jr.; and his dear friend Ruth Fullerton.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the family home at 82 Shagroy Road in Millerton.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home in Millerton. To send an online condolence, go to www.conklinfuneralhome.com.
