Vote for Marie Barnum in Salisbury

Marie Barnum is an excellent candidate for the Salisbury Board of Finance. She has solid experience in finance at Shipman and Goodwin LLP, Geer and as a tax preparer. She has excellent job experience and common sense. She listens well to the issues and does her homework.

Her values of hard work, ability to get the job done and love for our community make her first rate. Marie would bring experience, dedication and responsible leadership to the Board of Finance. We would be privileged to have her on the board.

Forood for finance

Another local election is approaching and I find it is important to support your candidates based on merit, strength of character and general qualification that would best serve our local community. As one who has served on local nonprofits, I realize how difficult it can be to find qualified folks who are willing to give their time in support of our town.

With that in mind, I’d like to write a letter of support for Pari Forood who is running for Salisbury Board of Finance. Currently, she is finishing a vacated first term on BOF.  Pari has lived in Lakeville for many years and is currently executive director of  Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation based in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

After graduating from Vassar College, she worked for 10 years for Congressman Hamilton Fish as press secretary.  She has a masters in public administration and locally serves on the Sharon Hospital Board and Salisbury Affordable Housing Commission.

Mayland deserves your vote

It is my pleasure to endorse the candidacy and recommend the election of Don Mayland who is running for selectman of Salisbury.

Don is a graduate of the University of Vermont, class of ‘66 and served in the Navy. After a stint in the family business, Don taught at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville for 37 years.

He is chairman of the  board of Litchfield Bancorp and serves on the board of directors of the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation, chair of the Salisbury Water Pollution Control Authority and president of the Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Clearly Don’s commitment to the public good is evident in all of his community activities; but Don has even more qualifications to recommend him as deserving of our  votes: He is very prudent, judicious and has a good heart!

In my view, a finer candidate for selectman could not be found.
