SHARON —There were seven-and-a-half tables at the Good Neighbors building at 1 Low Road on Wednesday, May 6, for duplicate bridge. Twenty-four boards were in play, three boards a round. East West pairs had a three board sit-out. The average score was 72.
I was asked to make it clear that in the future anyone coming to the game after 12:55 would not be accepted. I hate to not follow instructions so please do not be late. We had one late pair on Wednesday and they were dispatched to England for a week as a penalty so they won’t be here next week.
The winners were: For North South pairs, in first with 88 points ( 61.11 percent) were Doris Reeves and Harry Hall; in second with 76.5 points (53.13 percent) were Cindy Rubicam and Trish Stimpson; in third with 74 points (51.39 percent) were Wendy Summer and John Bevan.
For East West pairs, in first with 88.57 points (61.51 percent) were Kit Kellogg and Lily Beck, just back from Greece; in second with 74.67 points (51.85 percent) were Emily and Billy Saster; in third with 74.29 points (51.59 percent) were Brita Svala, just back from a long absence, and Marguerite McGrath.
