Stissing Mountain honors Honor Society inductees

PINE PLAINS - A ceremony was held Wednesday night at Stissing Mountain High School to induct new members into the National Honor Society.

High school Principal Jack Howe said he is very proud of this year's inductees.

"The induction ceremony is one of the special events we have during the year where we pause to recognize the students who support their school community and the surrounding community," Howe said. "These students are all very involved and they sacrifice a lot of their time for their activities. For me, the ceremony was a great celebration of these students."

The guest speaker at the ceremony was Lt. Sean Klay, an American serviceman who is serving overseas.

"For one of our community service projects, we sent over care packages to troops overseas," Howe said. "Klay received one of those packages, so he came back to Pine Plains to thank them. It was a very special night."

Students inducted into the National Honor Society on Wednesday were:

Seniors: Jacqueline Inserillo, Abigail Knickerbocker, Samantha Stagias, Paloma Sonzogni.

Juniors: David Bisson, Jon Bisson, Doug Mizutani, Ryan Kennett, Meagan Tetro, Jessalyn Sweeney, Sara Woodward, Lily Deveau, Leland Krumenacker, Annelise Hoffman, Eric Reed, Aldyn Stewart, Carley Rosato, Kyleigh Cummings.
