‘Fiddler’ on the stage at HVRHS

FALLS VILLAGE — The Housatonic Musical Theater Society will present “Fiddler on the Roof” on March 14, 15 and 16 at Housatonic Valley Regional High School.At rehearsal last Wednesday, Feb. 27, a small group was going over some steps with choreographer Amber Cameron on the Little Bird scene. Cameron worked with Lydia Downs, Jill Cannon, Georgia Horelick and Sophie Mortman, as Director Michael Berkeley played the piano and Production Manager Lori Belter looked on.The cast includes 27 high school students and five students from the region’s elementary schools, plus a live orchestra of 10 professional musicians. Students in the cast represent all six towns in the Region One school district. The showtimes are Thursday, March 14, Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, with performances at 7:30 p.m. each night and a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 16.Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased at the door, online, at www.HTMS.org, or at the Salisbury Pharmacy, Sharon Pharmacy, Kent Apothecary or the Wandering Moose. Developers withdraw application to expand Wake Robin Inn

LAKEVILLE — Aradev LLC has withdrawn its application to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a special permit to redevelop the Wake Robin Inn.

In a letter submitted to P&Z Chair Michael Klemens on the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 17, law outfit Mackey, Butts & Whalen LLP announced its client’s withdrawal.

"What I really feel lucky about is having had the chance to meet and photograph so many people who had a real impact on our lives,” said Christopher Little whose new memoir, “Shooting the Breeze: Memories of a Photojournalist” was just released. The book is as eclectic and colorful as the man himself and offers an intimate look into Little’s globe-trotting career spent behind the lens, capturing some of the most iconic figures, events, and human stories of the past half-century.

In 2021, the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at The University of Texas acquired Little’s photographic archive.
