‘Wedding Doll’ screening features Q&A with Director

The Moviehouse in Millerton will present Nitzan Gilady’s award-winning film “Wedding Doll” on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 3 p.m. as part of its Filmmakers Spotlight series, which invites the audience to meet the filmmakers and hear real stories from behind the camera.

“Wedding Doll” made a dramatic impression at the Jerusalem Film Festival, winning the awards for Best Actress, Best First Film and Best Israeli Film, along with awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Director at the Ophir Awards.

Moran Rosenblatt plays a woman with a mild mental deficiency who dreams of getting married. She’s in love with the son of the owner of the toilet paper factory where she works.  The announcement of the factory’s closure shakes her life and jeopardizes her love story.

After the film there will be a question-and-answer session with Gilady, which will be moderated by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Charles Randolph (“The Big Short”) of Ancram and his wifre, Ophir Award-winning actress Mili Avital.

Guests are invited to meet the panelists afterward at a public reception where light refreshments will be served.

Tickets cost $14 for the general public and $12 for members. For details, go to www.themoviehouse.net. To watch a trailer for “Wedding Doll,” go to www.weddingdollthemovie.com.
