David C. Stickles

MILLERTON — David C. Stickles, 69, died at his home in Millerton May 21, 2011, after a long battle with rectal cancer. David was born May 13, 1942, in Hudson, N.Y., to the late Sylvia (Scism) and Raymond Stickles. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Millerton American Legion.David is survived by his wife, Beverly; his daughters, Davida J. Milano and Amanda E. Long; seven grandchildren, Tyler Recchia, Christopher and Makayla Milano, Cadence Shufelt, Alex, Aaron and Noah Long; his brothers, Raymond, Herman, Joseph, Conrad, Thomas and Robert Stickles; his sisters, Beverly Brazee, Alice Palmer, Marie Ann Cade, Sylvia Wendover and Lu-Ann Brizzie; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.A funeral service was held May 24 from the Peck & Peck Funeral Home in Pine Plains. The Hydrilla Menace: Twin Lakes group buoyed by DEEP’s assault on invasive hydrilla in 2025

SALISBURY — The Twin Lakes Association is taking an earlier and more aggressive approach to fighting the spread of invasive hydrilla in East Twin Lake by dosing the whole northeast bay, from May through October, with low-level herbicide treatments instead of spot treatments.

The goal, said Russ Conklin, the TLA’s vice president of lake management, is to sustain herbicide concentration over the 2025 growing season.
