Herbalist opens store

MILLERTON — For years, friends and family have been turning to Terri Lundquist for herbal remedies for aches and illnesses, but with the new opening of TVH: The Village Herbalist, Lundquist will offer her talents and services to the entire community. The Village Herbalist, located in downtown Millerton, is built around four pillars of services: an herbal apothecary, natural healing consultations, eco-living products and eco-chic fashion.Lundquist earned a three-year certificate in clinical herbalism from the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism, where she studied under Rosemary Gladstar, one of the country’s leading herbalists.Based on her knowledge of plants and herbs, Lundquist creates natural treatments for a wide variety of ailments. She also offers natural healing consultations to help people with long-term problems like stress, insomnia and hormone imbalance. She said that people often don’t have the time to do the research on their own, but she wants to make sure people will have better access to healthy, nontoxic healing options. The Village Herbalist also carries a wide range of eco-friendly products that complement the store’s quest to promote healthy, natural living. The natural products cover nearly every area of the home, from the garden to the kitchen, and even the family pet.The closet isn’t left out, either; the shop carries a line of trendy, eco-friendly clothing imported from London. Hand-picked by Lundquist’s daughter, the items are aimed at pleasing fashionable and eco-conscious teens, 20- and 30-somethings.Lundquist said her welcome has been very positive and that she has received great feedback from the local community.“They all seem to like the idea,” she said. The Village Herbalist is located at 7 Dutchess Ave., next to Herrington’s.
