SHARON — On Wednesday, July 8, there were 10-and-a-half tables for duplicate bridge at Good Neighbors in Sharon. We played two boards per round and played 11 rounds. So North South pairs played 22 boards and East West pairs played 20 boards. The computer says the average score each way was 99.
The winners were: For North South pairs, in first with 120 points (60.96 percent) were Norma Bartholomew and Tom Burke; in second with 119.5 points (60.35 percent) were Cindy Rubicam and Trish Stimpson, and in third with 107.5 points (54.29 percent) were Mary and Bob Pierpont.
For East West pairs, in first with 137.5 points ( a whopping 69.44 percent) were Wendy Summer and John Bean; in second with 115.5 points (58.33 percent) were Susan Lambrecht and Ken Clark, and in third with 110.55 points (55.83 percent) were Emily and Billy Saster.
Several people told me they thought it was the best game in town, and as far as I know it is the only game in town. If all of our occasional players all show up on the same day, we will not be able to seat them all. Those in their chairs before 12:50 p.m. will be accommodated if we can find that many chairs.
