SHARON — We had eight-and-a-half tables for duplicate bridge at Good Neighbors (1 Low Road) on June 30. We played three boards a round, with a three-board sit-out for East West pairs.
North South pairs played 27 boards and East West pairs played 24 boards. The average score each way is the same, namely, 94.5 points.
For North South pairs, two pairs were tied for first: Carol Magowan playing with Trish Stimpson and Dick Collins playing with Harry Hall. Each had 114.5 points (60.58 percent). In third with 95 points (50.26 percent) were Vivian Sullivan and Terry Pastre. Very close behind them were Norma Bartholomew and George Mason with 84.5 points, (exactly 50 percent).
For East West pairs, in first with114.19 points (60.42 percent) were Stephen Feld and Peter Hollander; in second with 107.44 points (56.85 percent) were Lindley Young and Lilly Beck, and tied for third with 105.75 points (55.95 percent) were two pairs, Susan Lambrecht playing with Ken Clark and Kit Kellogg playing with Biz Rogers. We had seven-and-a-half tables for duplicate bridge on July 7 and played three boards a round. The average score each way was 72.
The winners: For North South pairs, in first with 96.5 points (67.01 percent) were Doris Reeves and Harry Hall; in second with 84 points (58.35 percent) were Vivian Sullivan and Terry Pastre, and in third with 82 points (56.99 percent) were Norma Bartholomew and Tom Burke.
For East West pairs, in first with a spectacular 105.71 points (73.4 percent) were Gigi Noyes and Wendy Summer; in second with 82.86 points (57.54 percent) were Barbara Griggs and Dick Collins, and in third with 74.29 points (51.59 percent) were Kit Kellogg and Lilly Beck.
