NORTH CANAAN - Victoria Beizer, 90, died Jan. 8, 2008, at her home in San Jose, Calif. She was a longtime resident of North Canaan, from the early 1940s to the 1960s. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, retired Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Lawrence Beizer.
Mrs. Beizer was an active member of the North Canaan community, volunteering in activities that included Scouting and the PTA.
She had a lifetime interest in dancing, particularly tap dancing, and for a number of years in California formed and led a group of senior dancers called the California State Troupers, who performed at venues as far away as Vancouver, B.C.
She is survived by her son, the Rev. Lance Beizer and his wife, Ann, of Campbell, Calif.
Memorial donations may be sent to a branch of the YMCA.
