The following information was provided by the Connecticut State Police at Troop B. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Rear-end accident yields minor injuries
On the afternoon of Aug. 24, Barbara Prindle, 85, of Sharon was attempting to make a left turn into her driveway on Route 4 in Sharon when she was rear-ended by an Acura RDX driven by Rachel Cook, 19, of Hebron. After the collision, Cook’s vehicle swerved across the roadway and struck a utility pole, disabling the vehicle. Prindle’s Honda CRV sustained functional damage to the rear bumper, and was able to be driven from the scene. Prindle was uninjured, but Cook was transported to Sharon Hospital by Sharon Ambulance for minor injuries. Cook was ultimately issued a written warning for following too closely resulting in an accident.
Disorderly conduct and assault arrest
Just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 25, troopers were dispatched to an address on Wells Hill Road in Lakeville for a 9-1-1 hang up call during which a person could be heard crying in the background. After investigating, troopers arrested Shannon Tyree-Brown, 48, of Lakeville for disorderly conduct and third degree assault. A 16-year-old victim was reported not to be injured. Tyree-Brown was processed at Troop B before being released on a $1,000 non-surety bond. She was scheduled to appear at Torrington Superior Court the next day.
Route 7 rear-end
At approximately 12:40 p.m. on Aug. 27, Carina Fiscella, 22, of Torrington and Heidy Rodriguez, 26, also of Torrington were driving south on Route 7 in Cornwall when Fiscella began slowing as a car in front began to prepare for a turn. While braking, Rodriguez’s vehicle, following behind, collided with the rear of Fiscella’s Honda Accord. BothFiscella’s Accord and Rodriguez’ Chevrolet Impala sustained minor damage and could be driven from the scene. Neither driver was injured during the incident. Rodriguez was issued an infraction for following too closely resulting in an accident.
West Hartford woman arrested on four charges
During the early evening on Aug. 28, troopers responded to a location on Route 7 in North Canaan on the report of a disturbance. After investigating, troopers arrested Alexandra Weisinger, 36, of West Hartford on four charges: operating a vehicle without the owner’s permission, second degree breach of peace, third degree assault and second degree unlawful restraint. She was taken into custody and transported to Troop B for processing and was later brought to York Correctional Center in Niantic until her arraignment on Aug. 31 at Torrington Superior Court.
