WEBUTUCK — The varsity boys and girls track team competed in the Section IX Championship May 28. I would like to congratulate each and every player on a job well done. With the smallest roster of nine boys and eight girls in Class D competition, the student-athletes stepped up to represent Webutuck High School in a big way.

To my knowledge and records, the boys and girls team combined to total a school record of 25 medals. The boys team  total was 15 individual gold medals and four silver individual  medals.  The girls team held their own and brought home seven silver medals. The Warriors boys and girls teams medaled in 16 events out of 30 as a team. Also, each player who participated placed in at least one event to give the teams points.

The Webutuck community, administrators, teachers, staff, classmates and especially parents of the players should be very proud of these young student-athletes for their dedication throughout the season that led up to the success at the Section IX Championships.
