Alice Elaine (Germond) Spaulding

MILLERTON—Alice Elaine (Germond) Spaulding, 73, daughter of the late Elaine and Roger Germond Sr., died on Aug. 5, 2009, at Noble Horizons after a long illness.

Alice was the wife of Robert Spaulding and the widow of Claude Marks of Housatonic, Mass., and Austin G. (Stub) Lovett Sr. of Salisbury.

In addition to her husband of 19 years, Robert, Alice is survived by a brother, Roger Germond Jr. of Tennessee and formerly of Millerton; five children, Dennis Marks Sr. of Cambridge, N.Y., Philip Lovett of Norfolk, Keith Lovett, of Millbrook, Teresa Lovett of Amenia,  and Trina Rosas of Millerton; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A private gathering to celebrate her life was held at the American Legion in Millerton on Aug. 8.

The family would like to express gratitude and appreciation to all who assisted with Alice’s care throughout her long illness. She received loving care from several area health-care facilities, including Sharon Hospital, Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation and the Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

A special thanks to everyone at Noble Horizons in Salisbury. Your acts of love and kindness and gentle care for our mom are greatly appreciated, as well as your attention to our family during her passing.

Words can never express our appreciation, or how much you mean to us. Heaven holds a special place for each and every one of you. You will forever remain in our hearts.
